Oakland: E. S. Dennison, (1888). First edition. Octavo. Unpaginated. Title page, (26) leaves of tinted lithographs from photos and 12 pp. of text explaining the pictures. Publisher's rust cloth with an elaborate design of a miner and the Cliff House, gilt cover lettering. Gilt a bit faded and very minor wear to extremities but overall a very attractive copy. There are 46 images which are discussed in the text at the rear; Last Spike, Sacramento capitol, Yosemite, Chinese buildings, Cliff House, Hotel Del Monte, etc.
