About This Item
Weidenfeld & Nicolson. London. 1970. Weidenfeld & Nicolson. 1975. First edition. Hardback in DW. PRESENTATION COPY FROM O'BRIEN TO HER LITERARY AGENT ROBIN DALTON, "Darling Robin and darling Bill.... What can I say but love? Edna." Edges of boards rubbed. Pages browned otherwise a sound copy in a wrapper that is worn and chipped to head of spine and creased along edges. Robin Dalton lived to 101 and had an extraordinary life and career. As a literary agent she represented Edna O'Brien, John Osborne, Iris Murdoch, Ben Travers, George Orwell, Margaret Drabble, B. S. Johnson, Bernice Rubens and many more. She also produced films, spied for Thai Government and for over five years dated the cousin and best man of Prince Philip. Born in Australia, she spent most of her adult life in London, surfed until she was 96 and went on entertaining people of all ages in her luxurious Hampstead flat until she died.
