The diary was edited and arranged by Margaret Juene's grandaughter Margaret Juene Gifford, in order to preserve them as a record for her descendants, not initially intended for a larger circle of readers. The diary begins in 1843 when Margaret was 25 years old. Condition: In a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally some bumping and marks to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally clean and bright throughout. With booksellers label and personalised ink inscription to the front free endpaper. Overall: VERY GOOD INDEED..
