New York: A.L. Burt This handsome volume, with illustrated Art Noveau-styled front panel and spine, is in Very Good condition. (Click on photo.) Set in a small Devonshire village, the book deals with a poor widow and her three daughters, Jasmine, Primrose, and Daisy. The book is undated but is most likely from the 1890s. The book includes an attractive pen-and-ink illustration by W.S. Stacey. The binding is tight and secure. The free front endpaper has stamped, decorative initials (KBK), presumably those of the original owner. The book is tightly bound in a green illustrated cloth, with light spine fading. The text pages are clean and bright but with moisture markings along the bottom edge in the bottom margin area. The book measures 5 1/4 by 7 1/2 inches and includes 410 pages. . Hard Cover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. Illus. by W.S. Stacey, Frontis Illustrator. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
