New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1929. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine/Near Fine. 8vo., 332pp, Beautiful First Edition Bound in orange cloth with titles in black on spine and front board. Square, tight and clean throughout save some off-setting to end-papers from jacket flaps. Very gentle bumping to spine ends and trivial rubbing to bottom tips. Very well-preserved as is the gorgeous Art Deco unclipped dust-jacket, $2.50) designed by Cleonike Damianakes. Cleon, as Damianakes is known is the artist of some of the most iconic dust-jackets of the era including Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms and The Sun Also Rises, as well as Fitzgerald's All the Sad Young Men. Some mile edge-wear and toning. A couple of miniscule closed edge-tears. Still fresh and bright with no chipping or creases and impossible to find in any condition. Signed by the author on the front end-paper. A gorgoeus collectable copy at a great price.
