The first five volumes of the Palestine Exploration Fund Annual (1911-1927) including volume III Annual 1914-1915, the first of Lawrence's works to appear in book form (O'Brien A004). B/w plates (several in colour), folding plans and diagrams, in-text illustrations. An ex-library set with a few scattered stamps, but these are contemporary and not necessarily unattractive, engraved bookplates (by Mary Gibbs, dated 1907) of the Carnegie Library, Torquay to the front paste-downs; pocket to the rear end papers, but these were reference only and not lent out, consequently the pages are clean and crisp. Original buckram-backed grey cloth bindings, gilt lettering to the spines; good and strong with a little general wear and some rubbing to the head/tails of the spines. A good to very good set.
