Philadelphia: Henry T. Coates & Co, 1900. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. [4], vii-viii, 1-527, [3] pp. Publisher's green cloth with beautiful gilt decorations and lettering on the front board and spine; top edge gilt. With its green linen dust jacket lettered in gilt on the spine. Title page printed in orange and black. Illustrated with a frontispiece and with several plates done in black and white, along with a folding map and a few maps in color at the end of the volume. A beautifully illustrated travel narrative of Palestine with additional anecdotes concerning Israel. Fulton here writes about Nazareth, Bethlehem, the River Jordan, Herod's Palace in Jerusalem, the Mosque of Omar, the Golden Gate, and several other biblically relevant tourist spots. Very light wear to the extremities, a beautiful example.
