The author, Geoffrey Hoyland, was headmaster at The Downs School in Malvern, where he taught alongside W H Auden who was to dedicate his poem, "A Summer Night" to Hoyland. Condition: The book itself is in very good condition for age with some tanning to the pages but generally clean and with secure binding. The dustwrapper has some foxing and tanning and suffers small areas of loss to the spine ends. Small taped repair to the bottom corner of the rear panel. However, it has not been price-clipped and is now within a protective sleeve.. First Edition. Hardback. Good Plus/Good.
