Half-bound red morocco, marbled boards, marbled endpapers and edges. Spine missing, covers edgeworn and scuffed, joints tender, contents are clean, 2 clean tears to frontispiece plan neatly repaired, short tear to inner margin of title page and next 7 pages neatly repaired, not affecting text, slight internal separation. The fold-out plans include studies for grouping of buildings in Washington, The Mall, a proposal for a boulevard, and even a birdseye view of the Paris Exposistion of 1889. In addition, there are numerous photo illustrations in the text of Washington sites.
