Paris: Rene Julliard. Very Good+. 1964. First Edition. Paperback. Autograph; 94 pages; Inscribed and signed by the author on the half title. Clean and tight in original tan wrappers. From the collection of the violinist Isaac Stern [1920-2001] -- Inscribed to his wife with his "chop" mark in Chinese characters at the rear. (In the Oscar-winning documentary of his 1979 trip to China "From Mao to Mozart," Maestro Stern is seen receiving the gift of his chop with delight: "No more signing!" From now on, "Chop, Chop, Chop!") Tetsuro Furukaki was a Japanese poet and a francophile, who served as Japanese Ambassador to France. He was also the editor of the newspaper Asahi Shinbun and general manager of the NHK - Japan's broadcasting and television network. His wife Masuko Kikuta was a musician. ; Signed by Author; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item. At The Antiquarian Book Shop, located in Georgetown - an historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. we have been buying, selling & appraising rare, interesting and scholarly books in Georgetown for more than 30 years.
