The first edition from which this edition was reproduced was first published in 1902 and contained 2 parts: PART I: ANNUAL REPORT OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION.....1902. This part has been omitted. Part II originally contained 3 papers describing collections in the Museum. This edition contains only the first of the 3 papers " ABORIGINAL AMERICAN BASKETRY" en toto. The work has been photographically enlarged from the original and all 248 full page plates have been included. First printing 1970. Not a facsimile because of changes made for technical reasons. Clean red cloth with titles on front cover & spine. Beautifully Illustrated with 248 B/W and color plates, b/w photographs, and drawings. Pagination goes from 171-548 + 124pp of plates. Interior of text is tight, clean and intact. Native Americans ; Color & b/w Plates; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 377 pages .
