Tear in front DJ v.2, small tears/chips to DJ edges v.2, v.1 DJ torn in half & heavily chipped, front DJ flap v.1 separated from rest of DJ. Volume1 signed by the author. Reprint of an article entitled "Louis Brownlow and the Governmental Arts" laid into v.1. The advisor and confidante of all the Presidents from Theodore Roosevelt through Harry Truman, Brownlow was almost solely responsible for the modern concept of the White House staff.
