Boards have been rebacked at spine ends and rear joint. Wear with brief exposure to extremities; corners bumped; general scuffing. Discoloration to spine. Two gatherings sprung but overall binding holding soundly. Pages toned but unmarked. Overall a very good and serviceable copy.
James' first short story collection and first published book. The title novella was originally published in two installments in the Atlantic Monthly.
