About This Item
Harper & Brothers, 1897. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 202 pages followed by 4 pages of ads. By the prolific writer, lecturer, and editor of publications including Life Magazine, Harper's Bazaar and Puck. First edition (first printing). A very good copy; cloth frayed at spine foot and offsetting from the jacket to endpapers. In the scarce dust jacket with loss to the spine ends and tears repaired on the verso with scotch tape, thus good. Inscribed by the author on front free endpaper: 'To my friend Mrs Love / these autobiographical / tales with the compliments of John Kendrick Bangs / Oct. 18, 1897.' BAL 735.
