About This Item
London / New York: John Lane / The Bodley Head, 1897. First Edition. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Grey cloth with black decoration to the front board and the spine. Brown topstain. Boards are soiled with some staining; cloth is worn at the outer corners of the boards and at the head and heel of the spine. Outer page edges browned with some mild dustsoil. Hinges cracked, but the binding is sound. Previous owner's inscriptions to the front and rear pastedowns. Despite all this, the text is clear and bright throughout - a good reading copy.
