John Murray,, [1952-57]. 2 vols., 8vo., First Edition, with title-vignettes, several illustrations in the text and 2 maps (one double-page) on green stock, small signature on front free endpaper of first volume; original blue-green cloth, upper boards and backstrips blocked and lettered in white, a bright, clean set in unclipped dustwrapper, wrapper of first volume mildly rubbed and frayed at edges with minor loss (not affecting lettering) at head and tail of backstrip; second volume lightly sunned at backstrip; first volume complete with Book Society promotional band. Bright set of Grimble's classic travel-autobiography set in the Gilbert and Ellice Islands of the Central Pacific. COMPLETE SETS ARE SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.
