Paris; (nd. ca.1838]: Louis Janet; Printed By Jules Didot. Small Octavo. 393(1)pp. illustrated by Desenne with 5 plates in two states(10 total) and engraved by Blanchard, beautifully bound by Chambolle-duru (Chambolle, Rene-Victor, 1834-1898) dated 1869 (signed binding) in full dark blue morocco decorated in gilt, raised bands with compartments lettered and fully decorated in gilt, marbled endpapers, gilt dentelles, all edges gilt, ribbon marker. Only minor spots of foxing, two early bookplates. A lovely copy with very nice plates. The story of two young lovers attempting to find happiness living a rural life.
