NY: Julian Messner, Inc., 1962. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 1962 [1956] 1st edition, early printing. i-x, 190pp, I-II. Nice overall condition, a scant amount of wear at the edges, and dust jacket worn, but presents well. Pee Wee Reese, the Captain of the famous "Boys of Summer" Brooklyn Dodgers teams of the 1950s. He emerged as one of a very few to publicly condemn the racism hurled at Jackie Robinson when Robinson was brought up to the Dodgers in 1947. In 2005 a bronze sculpture of the iconic image of Reese with his arm around Robinson's shoulder was placed at MCU Park [Home of the NY Mets minor league franchise - Cyclones] A 10 time All-Star, Reese was elected into the hall of fame in 1984..
