About This Item

Manchester [UK]: Manchester University Press, 2020. BRAND NEW in a BRAND NEW dust jacket. PERFECT CONDITION but for just a bit of mild shelfwear to the jacket (like you sometimes find in any new book store). NOT price clipped (£20 UK/ $30 US). NO chips or tears. Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. Pages are fresh, crisp, clean and unmarked -- obviously never read. Bound in the original black boards, stamped in bright gold . From the dust jacket: "Founded in 1935 by a young publisher disillusioned with the class prejudices of the interwar publishing trade, Penguin Books set out to make good books available to all… Equal opportunity and professional expertise, values embodied by the egalitarian aspirations of Penguin's publishing ethos, would be the drivers of social and economic progress.". First Printing of the First Edition. Hardcover. New/New dust jacket. 8vo. ix, 281pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

We always take the time necessary to carefully package your order so that it arrives safely and securely. About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
