About This Item
New York, NY Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1964. Hardcover First Edition (1964), so stated. First Edition (1964), so stated. Near Fine in Very Good DJ. The Book's tinted top edge is barely perceptibly faded; a touch of shelf-soiling at the bottom edge of the text block; a very faint smudge to the fore-edge; else flawless. The binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. Shows a couple of minor flaws; but remains a handsome copy: clean, sturdy, and quite presentable: in fact, in overall appearance, remains close to 'As New'. The DJ shows light wear to the extremities; a tiny closed tear at the top edge of the front panel; a split at the mid-point of the rear hinge; else only mild rubbing and very faint soiling to the white background field of the rear panel; the backstrip is very lightly sunned; a rubber-stamped date at the lower corner of the inside rear flap; the price has been clipped; mylar-protected. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (9.3 x 6.35 x 1.3 inches). xxii, 403 pages. Translated and with an introductory essay by Albert H Friedlander. Blue and Brown cloth over boards with white, silver and gilt titles at front face and backstrip. Hardcover with DJ. An existential history of the Jewish spirit, treated both as a continuous and progressive revalation of God to history and enrichment of the covenant made with God.
