Wonderfully illustrated, nice condition copy of "The People's Farm and Stock Cyclopedia" by Waldo F. Brown. 1891; N. Wilson & Company; Boston. Two Volumes in one (complete in one volume) - "new edition, revised and enlarged". The book features nearly 400 engravings and diagrams, and 'Appendixes' for reference in all departments of agricultural life.
"Embracing comprehensive and practical treatises on farm topics of every description, including farm management, fencing, farm drainage, fertilizers, the soil and its improvements, grasses, corn, wheat, miscellaneous crops of every description, root crops, fruit on the farm, gardening, insects, timber-growing, farm homes and surroundings, small farms for poor men, handy things about the farm, etc."
Also included is a complete Volume on farm stock in all its departments, including the breeding, care and management of horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, poultry and bees. The book also includes food for animals, barns and barn-yards and the diseases of horses and live stock.
Condition:
Clean front cover and spine with bright gilt lettering; there are a few small scratches on the back cover; nice corners. Tight binding. No cracks. No loose pages. Light soiling to the long edge of the text block. Overall the pages are in terrific condition with no writing, tears or foxing found; only a few random pages found with a light stain or smudge. Overall the book is in very good condition.
