London: the Hogarth Press, 1937. [Biography] FIRST EDITION, First Impression. Octavo (22 x 15cm), pp.282 [6]. With 16 black and white illustrated plates, including a frontispiece. Publisher's brown cloth with gilt titles to spine. With the typographic dust-jacket, illustrated with the sole of Pepita's shoe, priced at 10/6 to spine. Heavy offset marks to endpapers. Toning and spotting to edges, with light spotting throughout. Jacket toned, quite heavily to spine, with chipping and wear to all extremities, and larger losses to head and tail of spine. Rare with the jacket. Very good. The sensational story of Vita Sackville-West's grandparents, Lionel Sackville-West and the Spanish Dancer Pepita (Josefa de la Oliva).
