Very rare. Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1940. First edition. Large in-4. This scarce title is the first of a two-volume set, belonging to the series "Excavations of the British School of Archaeology at Athens, 1930-1933. Architecture, Bronzes, Terracottas." Full brown buckram, with stamped gilt lettering and ornamentation to the spine. The exterior shows minor edge wear, with light bumping to the corners. The covers exhibit scattered minute tears. The front hinge is cracked. The rear hinge has been repaired. Two small pen markings are visible on page 7. On page 266, an errata slip is laid in. This volume has been collated and is complete. Pagination: v-xiv, followed by 1-271 with index. Present are 146 plates, including a frontispiece, with two plates (frontispiece and Plate B) in color. Language: English.
