A survey of the carpet-weaving industry of Persia based on Edwards' fifty years' experience of the Persian carpet trade, thirteen of them in Persia itself, visiting at regular intervals every important weaving center in the country, including maps of the weaving areas and photographs of carpet centers and of manufacturing processes. Profusely illustrated with four color and 419 b/w reproductions of carpets, carpet designs, maps and b/w photographs of vicinities throughout. Standard work on Persian carpets of the late 19th to mid 20th century. Indexes at rear include chronology of the Persian carpet, carpet exports, Persian measures and equivalents, places, tribes and persons, and a general index.
