Undated, probably India [early 1850s]. 4 pp. 5 x 3½ inches, in good condition. Sir Edward Fitzgerald Campbell (1822-1882) served with distinction in the Punjab Campaign of 1848-49, was at the siege of Multan and at Gujarat. Campbell was at the Siege of Delhi, 1857, and became Military Secretary to Lord Canning when Governor-General, 1857-61. Another letter from the same correpondence, formerly in our stock, was dated from Calcutta in April 1852.
