Several spots with cloth perished. Clean internally. Several plates, including one of Harris in later life. Laid in is a worn pamphlet titled "Automobiles" by [the late] Samuel Harris (with the compliments of the Samuel Harris & Co Machines and Manufacturers Tools and Supplies Chicago, 1911) which notes Harris was a 1st Lieutenant in Co. A, 5th Michigan Cavalry. Cloth. A personal narrative published for the benefit of his children and descendants. Many anecdotes, including of prison life during the War of the Rebellion (perhaps better known to modern readers as the civil war). Scarce in the original edition (also reprinted by Kessinger and others).
