"The resurgence of interest in American prints makes this important volume of Peter Hurd lithographs particularly pertinent today. Long out of private and museum collections across the country. Here then is a complete review of the work of a master graphic artist. The strength, directness, and importance of these lithographs has not been fully appreciated previously, and it is fitting they should now receive the attention of a much wider audience. Particular attention has been given to the faithful reproduction with all plates being made directly from originals and printed on heavy stock. Peter Hurd has contributed fascinating personal reminiscences for each plate, as well as brief notes on lithography, illustrated with photos taken in the artist's studio of various stages of the lithographic process." ; B&W Illustrations and Photographs; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 23 pp; Signed by Editor .
