The dust jacket has edge wear, nicking, several small edge tears and several chips missing, especially noticeable is one on the spine by the title. T"he story of Peter Pan in Kensington Garden was originally a portion of a longer adult novel written in 1902 by Barrie, entitled "The Little White Bird". The theme of unending childhood apparently resonated strongly with Barrie, as he further expanded on the theme in 1904 with the play "Peter Pan or the Boy who Wouldn't Grow Up". Barrie's publisher Hodder & Stoughton decided to capitalize on the popularity of the play and released this separate version which was geared towards children. Including exquisite illustrations by Arthur Rackham was marketing genius. " .
