Original publisher's blue cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and to the front board with a vignette of the children flying above houses. This copy has a very bright, tight clean and fresh looking text block - free from any soil marks, finger soiling etc. It does have an ink gift inscription to the front endpaper. Page 189/190 has an expertly repaired 4cm tear to the outer margin and a 4mm tear to the same margin - also expertly repaired with a crease to the margin between these two creases. The hinges remain tight. There is some light uniform fading to the cloth spine and some light fading to the margins of both the front and rear boards. There are four circular stain marks to the rear board - the largest being 6mm in diameter - the others much smaller. Most notable - in terms of defects is rubbing to both front board corners with some loss of cloth and a 7cm split to the cloth along the leading front board edge - with slight loss. A very good, clean, tight copy with an exceptionally bright, tight text block. . Very Good. 1931. First Edition Thus.
