About This Item

New York: Harper and Brothers, 1936 Book. Illus. by The Author. Good. Hardcover. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Gaston and Josephine are two very rosy French pigs who live with their mother and father on a little farm in the mountains in France. Their uncle in America has invited them to come and visit their little cousins. They begin with a look around Paris, but manage to miss their train. The Mayor lends them his bicycle, and they finally reach the ship. A fog closes in, but the little pigs squeak as loud as they can to warn other ships. In New York they receive the key to the city, but discover that they still have four days on the train, for their uncle's ranch is out west. "But we'll have such a good time when we get there," said their cousin. Four leaves have short tears at the gutter, and two leaves have 6-inch tears. The spine has a full length of book repair tape, and the cover is decorated with an orange circle claiming "People matter more. Vote NDP." 48 pp..
