New York: Doubleday, Doran & Co., And the Junior Literary Guild, 1937. Stated first edition, 1937, but Junior Literary Guild edition. Children's fiction set on the Gaspe Peninsula of northern Quebec, illustrated throughout in both color and in black and white. Tan hardcover printed in light blue, illustrated endpapers, illustrated dustjacket. Minimal shelfwear, just a bit of light edge rubbing, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with a name very neatly written on the back of the front free endpaper, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has a slightly age-toned spine and an inch and half long chip at the lower end, affecting the second half of the author's name, and two other, much smaller chips. Well-kept copy.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
