Petition to Congress (dated 14 November 1803) to the incorporate the Directors of the Columbian Library Company, established for the erection and support a Public Library. The original bill [House document (United States. Congress. House); 7th Congress, 2nd Session, no. 52] was ordered to be committed to a committee of the whole House on 21 February 1803 but proceeded no further. Another bill [House document (United States. Congress. House); 8th Congress, 1st Session, no. 14] was likewise ordered on 12 December 1803. Scarce: OCLC locates only three copies.
