Map, City of Peking to ffep, and of Peking and its Environs to rear free endpaper. ix, 266. W/ bibliography and Romanization spellings. Numerous monochrome plates taken by Morrison during her time in Peking from 1933 to 1946, portraying a vanished world, and an excellent depiction of Peking and its people of the time. Morrison has been acclaimed as one of the best photographers to have worked in China, certainly as a Westerner in the country. With text and captions by Morrison. A bright, very well kept copy in a jacket with very minor edgewear.
