London: : Gentleman's Magazine,, 1757. 12" x 11-1/2"- 30.4 x 29.2 cm. Copper engraved map. A few creases and one closed tear to left margin otherwise fine. The map is after Phillipe Buache's north polar projection. Buache, who worked for his father in law De l'Isle, theorized that the mountain ranges of the world continued as chains under the oceans.
