About This Item

[Maine] Pictorial Letter Sheet. New York: C. Magrms(?) [Circa 1860?] 13.4 x 21.6 cm. Lined paper with color vignettes of Bird's Eye View of Bangor from the Harbor and Woman with a Trident. Light staining along top edge, not affecting color vignettes, else very good.

OCLC shows no holdings. This was with a number of Civil War letter sheets, so I am assuming it may be contemporary with them. The harbor shows three paddle wheel steamers in addition to a number of sailing vessels. The figure is perhaps meant to be Amphitrite, goddess of the sea.
