Pictorial red boards, with gilt lettering and illustratons on front and spine; all edges gilt. 8 x 5 inches. 344 pp. Illustration on front shows a sail-ship behind a Roman garrison holding a sword and a lance. B&w frontispiece shows Caesonia pouring a love potion. Small b&w illustrations throughout book. Prize label to front paste-down endpaper is from "Israel, The Jewish Magazine". Some loss to cloth binding at head and base of spine. Boards slightly bumped and rubbed at corners, slightly darkened at edges, with occasional small marks; cloth of spine slightly faded. Front hinge cracked, contents slightly browned. 2pp publisher's list after contents page. A good copy.
