Oversize Hardcover 2 Vol set, 314pp, 388pp. Profusely illustrated with engraved plates and in-text illustrations throughout. Bound in original brown bevelled cloth boards, blindstamped gilt decorations and titles to front and spine. All edges gilt. An attractive copy but with boards lightly soiled and slightly edgeworn, cracked and repaired inner hinges of both vols, blank page issues including chipping, splitting, frep vol. 2 lacking. A better hardback set against what is typically found. Translated from the original German by Clara Bell. NOT EX-LIBRARY.
