About This Item

New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1963. This fictionalized biography, based on the colorful life of John Bunyan, author of "The Pilgrim's Progress," is in Fine condition, with a Near-Fine dust jacket. The price-unclipped dust jacket has some light edge rubbing and creasing on the front panel. The author recreates Bunyan's childhood, his service in the army under Oliver Cromwell, his marriage, the birth of his handicapped child, for which he believed God was punishing him for his own sins. The book is bound in a light gray cloth with titles in black and in gilt against a black border. The binding is tight and secure. The pages are clean and bright. I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. The book measures 6 by 8 3/8 inches and includes 288 pages.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
