LONDON: Robert Hardwicke, 1866 New and Revised edition of M C Cooke's classic work on British Fungi in decorative green cloth binding with gilt titles and a gilt picture of a mushroom on the front board. With hand coloured vignette title page and 23 other hand coloured plates of mushrooms. The binding is very bright and clean. There is slight pulling to the spine and slight bumping to corners. The original endpapers are present with a pasted ownership label to the front pastedown. There are 2 further ownership signatures: to the verso of the fep and to the verso of the frontispiece. The contents are in very good clean condition. There is a little marking to the side margin at pages 1-9. The stitching is a little wobbly and visible at times. Page 68 has been poorly opened and there is small tearing at the top margin. Catalogue at the rear.
