Jacques-François Blondel was an 18th-century French architect known for his contributions to the Royal Academy of Architecture much in part to his book 'Cours d'Architecture'. This book became one of the most important works of French architecture of its era, not only for lessons in architecture and building but for the exquisite folding engravings that were published with it.
This rare volume of engravings from Blondel's famous work contain views of grand staircases, fountains, gardens and garden layouts, vases, palace facades, and even city and chateau floor plans! An impressive tome with 52 exquisite engravings!
