Description:
This first and second baseman debuted in 1921 with the Cincinnati Reds (until 1924), playing also for the Philadelphia Phillies (1925), Cleveland Indians (1927-31) and Chicago White Sox (1931-33); he plays himself in the 1927 silent comedy "Slide, Kelly, Slide," a film that supposedly got him interested in using film footage to analyze baseball games and players, which practice he pioneered as manager of the White Sox (1932-34). Bold "Best wishes / From" and signature in blue fineline, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., n.y. Fine. A nice later life example.
