The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper.Ink inscription to the front free end paper, dated 1966.A collection of nine entertaining P. G. Wodehouse short stories, featuring Jeeves, Blandings, Ukridge, Mr Mulliner, Freddie Threepwood, and more. This collection includes: 'Jeeves and the Greasy Bird'; 'Sleepy Time'; 'Sticky Wicket at Blandings'; 'Ukridge Starts a Bank Account'; 'Bingo Bans the Bomb'; 'Stylish Stouts'; 'George and Alfred'; and 'A Good Cigar is a Smoke'. These stories had previously been published in Argosy, Playboy, or the Saturday Evening Post. This UK edition also includes extra chapters in between the stories, containing anecdotes which had originally been published in Punch. A wonderful first edition from the prolific twentieth century humourist. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrapper is mostly bright and smart, except for sunning to the spine and a small closed tear to the upper extremity of the front of the wrap. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
