About This Item

DJ is sunned, chipped and torn; it is in a protective sleeve. The paper/cloth quarter boards are in fine condition, binding is tight; textblock, pages are clear of marks. The only date in book is the copyright date of 1951; the jacket design by Harper & Row is 1984, and has ISBN number.

This book contains almost 300 poems -- previously published as well as unpublished in this country. From the DJ front flap— "…merry, imaginative, true, and wise poems that children love and remember…. every one of them true to the heart of childhood in the songs of a true poet."
