Limited Edition of 500 registered and numbered copies. This is number 417. Limitation page in both volumes. Half-bound in brown leather with marbled paper-covered boards. Marbling is brown, red, black & cream with gold overlay. Spine has five plain raised bands with gilt ruled borders; two panels have gilt lettering and four have gilt thistle design. Top pages edges are gilt. Matching marbled endpapers. 25 black & white illustrations, consisting of tipped in illustrations, photogravures, photographs of sculptures, facsimiles, and four engravings from paintings by J.M.W. Turner. All illustrations have a tissue guard with a printed caption. Bindings tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Leather has some darkening at the top edge and corners and only slight rubbing at extremities. Paper on edges has a few small chips. Some of the raised bands on the spines have horizontal cracks in leather. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 683 + 657 pages. No dust jackets. Spine title: "Walter Scott Poems". Tails of spines stamped "EDINBURGH" in gold. Carefully packed, shipped in a box. This item will be shipped with signature confirmation required.
