Lowell (1819-1891) was a New England romantic poet who wrote of Keats at a time when Lowell's wife died, his father grew deaf and his sister was developing mental issues where she lost her speech. Longfellow called him "lonely and desolate." This is a special glimpse of one turbulent poet analising another. All calf binding with slight bumps to ends and tiny piece missing from top of spine else VG, marblised edges, frp of Keats, 415pps. Six spine compartments with red leather title. 1st edn thus, 12mo, f/o names on fep. Wonderful gift copy.
