Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) was an American writer and teacher, known for 'Paul Revere's Ride' and 'Evangeline', as well as being the first American to translate Dante's 'Divine Comedy'. His poetry was particularly lyrical, drawing inspiration from mythology, and he was a particularly versatile poet, exploring all sorts of forms.The Oxford Complete Copyright edition, illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of the author. In a contemporary lacquered binding. Externally generally smart; spine is a little worn, as are the cloth joints. Boards remain smart.
