Handsome green cloth binding with black and gilt decorations and gilt title blocks on front cover and spine, beveled edges to front cover, blindstamped design on back cover, decorative endpapers in green, gilt top edge, red borders on pages. Some edge wear, particularly at spine, and spotting of cover, spine darkened but gilt mostly bright, front cover gilt bright, corners and spine ends bumped, former owner's name and date 1882 facing half-title, some pencil notations same, light foxing at first few pages, later pages clean and mostly bright, back hinge broken, front hinge a little weak at frontispiece, binding otherwise tight.
