Henneberry Company N. D.. AEG along with red edged pages this book is in beautiful condition. HOWEVER the covers are not. Boards are black with nice gold lettering on spine. Paper over cardboard boards with pressed details. Pa per over front board is completely gone. Rest of paper over boards are brittle but OK. A previous owner took care and covered boards with a black vinyl jacket. This jacket is glued to inside covers. S omeone has slit this black jacket down center of spine to read title. Nice engravure frontispiece of Mrs. Hemans with tissue guard. Title page has title in red along with nice black and white peacock. ; Small 8vo; 400 pages; Order number is DQ13-118. Binding is Hardcover. .

Ward, Lock, & Co. Ltd., 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. 595 pages. No dust jacket. Fully bound in brown leather with decoration and gilt. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Heavy cracking at the hinges with exposed binding material. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout however binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Peeling and loss to spine leather. Mild crushing to spine ends. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains.

GB: Ward Lock Not dated but owner's inscription dated 1885. Green cloth with gold and black embossed decoration and lettering. Bevelled edges. All edges gold. In very good, clean, tight condition BUT front end paper, half-title and frontispiece are detached, tissue guard remains with body text. The spine and front cover have pulled away from the spine, the back cover remains attached. Corners and spine ends bumped/rubbed.. Hardback. G++/No DW. Illus. by Society of Decorative Art.
