London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, Green, & Longman, 1835. New edition (Poetical Works); First edition (Yarrow Revisited). Hardcover. vg. Large 24mo (6 x 3 3/4"). XLVII, 342, [2]pp (Vol. 1); XV, [1], 377, [1]pp (Vol. 2); XI, [1], 358pp (Vol. 3); [6], 357, [1]pp (Vol. 4); XV, [1], 349, [1]pp (Yarrow Revisited). Contemporary 3/4 calf over marbled paper covered boards, with gold lettering and tooling to spines. Marbled endpapers and paper edges.

Handsome edition of "The Poetical Works of William Wordsworth" with at least two important additions:

- "Filial Piety," written in 1828, first published in "The Casket" (1829), first included in this work among "Miscellaneous Sonnets, Part Second" (Vol. 2);

- "The Wishing-Gate," also written in 1828; first published in "The Keepsake" (1829), and also first included in this 1832 edition of his "Poetical Works" among "Poems of the Imagination" (Vol. 3).

[WITH]

"Yarrow Revisited and Other Poems" (1835), published by the same publishers, and numbered "Vol. 5" on binding as the Advertisement (page VII) mentions the following: "It was the author's intention to reserve the contents of this volume to be interspersed in some future edition of his miscellaneous poems.."

This work contains William Wordsworth's poems composed during a tour in Scotland, and on the English border, in the autumn of 1831.

Minor shelf wear. Bindings and interior in overall very good condition.
