San Francisco, CA: New College, Circa 1970s. First Printing. Single Sheet. Very Fine. A large broadside-poster (17&1/2"x23") announcing a poetry reading by two legendary poets- Ed Dorn & Ed Sanders. Dorn (1929-1999) is among the most important poets of the Black Mountain School, most famous for his magnum opus, Gunslinger, first published in its entirety in 1975. Sanders is among the key figures in the literary, publishing & musical counterculture of the 1960s & beyond. The reading took place on April 28 of an unknown year (we presume it was around the 1970s) at the now-defunct New College in San Francisco. Illustrated with line drawings of Greek text in circles (Sanders is trained in classical Greek & has translated ancient Greek poetry into English), boots & ancient Egyptian symbols. A bold, beautiful production on quality paper, & an extremely rare collectible relating to two very important poets. In very fine condition with only some short, faint creases across surface; small creases at upper & lower right corners. Currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube.
